1834 Foundation History
Founded as part of Operation Black Vote Canada’s youth initiatives, the 1834 Fellowship was launched in 2019, and the 1834 Foundation was created and launched in 2023. The 1834 Foundation is dedicated to connecting young Black Canadians with the notion that public policy is a noble vehicle for public service.
Mission
Our mission is to advance the Black communities in Canada by developing and training young Black leaders who are interested in informing local, national, and international policies.
Objective
Our objective is to increase the pool of Black leaders in public service careers and public policy positions locally, nationally and internationally through our 1834 Programs.
